The news that Chattooga County is looking to purchase Rev. Howard Finster’s Paradise Gardens is spreading, and Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters said that the more the public knows about the county’s plans to purchase the property, the better.

An article appeared in the Chattanooga Times-Free Press this week outlining the commissioner’s plans to purchase the property and then lease it back to the current owners, Paradise Gardens Park and Museum.

Commissioner Winters was on AM 1180’s NEWSMAKER INTERVIEW Program on Wednesday outlining his vision for the property and said that no local tax dollars would be used in the purchase.  The county has pre-approval for a $70,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission for the purchase.

AM 1180 will re-broadcast the NEWSMAKERS Interview program on Saturday at 10:15 AM and then again on Sunday at 5:30 PM.
