Many parents have contacted AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio this morning to express their displeasure with the county school system making the decision to have school today.

The National Weather Service had downgraded our area from a Winter Weather Warning to a Winter Weather Advisory around 3:30 this morning.  At 5:50 AM the Chattooga County School System made the decision to have school today. 

Snow began to fall on Lookout Mountain at 4 AM and by 4:45 AM Stateline Road was snow covered.  By daylight Highway 48, Highway 157 and Gilreath Mill Road were snow covered.  The snow began to fall in Summerville around 7 AM and the school system made the decision to close schools.  All Chattooga County Schools and Trion City Schools were closed by 9:30 this morning.
