THE MURDER TRIAL OF SAM PARKER SPENT MUCH OF DAY NUMBER THREE SEEKING TO ESTABLISH THE MOVEMENTS AND COMMUNICATIONS OF THERESA PARKER… AND WHO SHE WAS WITH IN THE HOURS BEFORE SHE DISAPPEARED.  FORMER WALKER COUNTY DEPUTY SHANE GREEN WAS QUESTIONED AT LENGTH BY SAM PARKER’S ATTORNEY.   GREEN SAID HE TALKED TO THERESA BY PHONE… AND MET HER IN CHATTANOOGA BEFORE SHE LEFT ON A TRIP TO THE SMOKEYS.  BUT WHEN ASKED POINT BLANK IF HE WENT WITH HER ON THAT TRIP, HE SAID "NO".  GREEN SAID HE ALSO GOT A CALL FROM SAM PARKER… WHO APPARENTLY THOUGHT HE WAS HAVING AN AFFAIR WITH THERESA AT THE TIME.  HE TESTIFIED THAT PARKER "ASKED ME IF I LOVED HER"… AND ALSO TOLD ME THAT "I NEEDED TO GET A LAWYER".

GREEN ALSO TOLD OF GETTING A CALL FROM THE 9-1-1 CENTER (WHERE THERESA WORKED) EARLY ON THE MORNING OF MARCH 22, 2007… SAYING THERE HAD BEEN A "HANG UP CALL" FROM THERESA’S PHONE AND EMPLOYEES THERE WERE WORRIED ABOUT HER.  HE AND ANOTHER DEPUTY MET AT THE PARKER RESIDENCE ON CORDELL ROAD… BUT NO ONE WOULD ANSWER THEIR KNOCK AT THE DOOR, HE SAID.

SAM PARKER’S TRIAL CONTINUES TODAY IN WALKER COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT.
