SAM PARKER’S EX-WIFE, KEILA BEARD, TESTIFIED WEDNESDAY THAT HE "CHOKED HER, PUT A PISTOL TO HER HEAD AND THREATENED TO KILL HER". ON ANOTHER OCCASION, SHE SAID THAT PARKER "DRAGGED HER BY HER HAIR FROM THE KITCHEN TO THE BEDROOM OF THEIR HOME AND HANDCUFFED HER TO THE BED".  PARKER’S MURDER TRIAL IS NOW AT THE HALF-WAY POINT IN WALKER COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT… IF INITIAL ESTIMATES PROVE TO BE ACCURATE.

HE IS ON TRIAL FOR THE MURDER OF HIS ESTRANGED WIFE, THERESA PARKER… WHO WORKED FOR WALKER COUNTY 9-1-1 UNTIL HER DISAPPEARANCE, 2 YEARS AGO.  MS. BEARD TOLD JURORS THAT HER FORMER HUSBAND SAID TO HER THAT "HE KNEW HOW TO KILL ME WITHOUT GETTING CAUGHT – AND NO ONE WOULD EVER FIND MY BODY."  OTHER TESTIMONY CAME FROM THERESA PARKER’S CO-WORKERS.  TRACY PARRIS SAID ON TRIPS WITH MRS. PARKER SHE REMEMBERED THAT THERE WAS A CARGO MAT IN THE REAR OF HER 4-RUNNER.  INVESTIGATORS FOUND NO SUCH MAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS CHECKED AFTER HER DISAPPEARANCE.

A TAPED TELEPHONE CONVERSATION WAS PLAYED, IN WHICH SAM PARKER CALLED MS. PARRIS AT THE 9-1-1 CENTER.  HE MENTIONS THERESA’S TRIP TO THE SMOKIES – AND THAT HE HAD FOUND THE MOTEL RECEIPT WAS FOR TWO PEOPLE.  PARKER SAID "I’M ABSOLUTELY JUST WAILING" AND "THIS CAME LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AFTER MY DADDY DIED".  PARKER SAID HE HAD CONFRONTED HIS WIFE ON THE MATTER, AND QUOTE: "SHE WENT BALLISTIC"… AND THEN SHE REPORTEDLY ASKED HIM, "WHAT DOES IT CHANGE?"

DAY 9 OF THE SAM PARKER MURDER TRIAL CONTINUES IN WALKER COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT TODAY.
