Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters spoke with AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio on Wednesday about the problem with pedestrians and unauthorized vehicles on the Lyerly Dam Bridge.  Twice in the past couple of weeks, workers at the bridge have been approached by ATV riders and ask if they can cross the bridge.  Also, construction signs have been vandalized or removed at the work site.Winters said that while he understands the inconvenience that people in the area are experiencing, it is important the pedestrians and vehicle traffic of any kind remain off the bridge during construction.  Winters told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio that the county would be taking measures to insure that there is no traffic on the bridge during construction, including asking the sheriffs department for increased patrols in the area.
