Wildlife experts in Northwest Georgia are trying to determine if what several people reported seeing in Walker County was a mountain lion.  The sighting of a "big cat" that was estimated to weigh around 125 pounds was at a Rossville trailer park late last week.

Experts have denied for several years that any mountain lions were in Northwest Georgia since the last confirmed sighting of mountain lions was over 100 years ago.  However, several residents in Northwest Georgia are convinced that there are "big cats" still in the mountains of Northwest Georgia.

The sighting in Walker County was on Thursday of last week and the creature was seen by several residents and there are some "fuzzy photo’s" of the cat.  Walker County deputies and DNR officials searched for the animal without any results.
