Many of the areas closest to Chattooga County that had experienced power outages from Wednesday’s storms are starting to see the lights come back on.
On Saturday afternoon Cherokee Electric Co-Op began to restore power to residents in Cherokee County, Alabama close to the Chattooga County line. Sand Mountain Electric was starting to get the power turned back on around Mentone, Alabama through the early hours of Sunday morning.
Georgia Power said that the 2400 residents of Floyd County without power should have their power restored as of Sunday afternoon.
