AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio spoke with Erica Green of Primary Health Care Center. The organization is a not for profit federally funded health care provider that is looking to open a community health center in Chattooga County. Ms. Green told AM 1180 that Primary Health Care Center has targeted Chattooga County as a high priority for their services.
The organization’s mission is to provide high quality, affordable and accessible preventive services, and primary health care and dental services to all individuals, regardless of ability to pay. Primary Health Care Center has operated as an independent, non-profit corporation since 1980, and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center and is a member agency of the United Way of Greater Chattanooga (TN).
Primary Health Care has obtained federal funding for a planning grant to open a center in Chattooga County. They currently operate centers in Walker and Dade Counties.
A planning meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27th at the Chattooga County Civic Center to hear from local citizens about the need for quality, affordable medical service in Chattooga County. The meeting will be held at 6 PM.
