The Town of Trion is considering applying to the Georgia Department of Community Affiars for a Community Development Block Grant of up to $500,000. These funds must be used to primarily benefit low- and moderate income persons.
The activities for which these funds may be used are in the areas of housing, public facilities, and economic development. More specific details regarding eleigble activities, plans to assist displaced persons (if any), the estimated amount of funds proposed to be used for activities to benefit low and moderate income persons, adn the rating system will be provided at a public hearing which will be held at the Trion Town Hall, 1220 Pine Street Trion, Georgia 30753 on March 4, 2010 at 6 PM.
The purpose of this hearing will be to obtain citizen input into the development of the application. Persons with special needs relating to hadicapped accessibility or foreign languages shall contact Patty Hill, City Clerk, 706-734-2332 prior to 2 PM on March 3, 2010. This person can be located at 1220 Pine Street between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday except holidays. This application wil be submitted to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs no later than April 1, 2010. After this date a copy of the application will be available to the public for review at Trion Town Hall, 1220 Pine Street Trion, Georgia 30753.
