Chattooga County Commissioner, Jason Winters, announces a public hearing to be held at the Chelsea Baptist Church, located on Hwy. 337, Menlo, GA, Monday, March 16, 2009, beginning at 6:00pm.

The purpose of this meeting is to inform the citizens of the Shinbone Valley Road, Blowing Springs Road and Massey Road of a grant application to install water lines in those areas.  There will be an opportunity and assistance to help residents in these areas in preparation of surveys for the application.  Surveys will be mailed to residents along the proposed water line, and door-to-door surveys will be conducted as well.

There are approximately 50 households that can benefit from the extension of the water line.  Any questions can be directed to the commissioner’s office at 706-857-0700.  Completed surveys can be turned in at the public meeting or mailed to the commissioner’s office at PO Box 211, Summerville, GA 30747.  Surveys may also be faxed to the commissioner’s office at 706-857-0742
