Gerrice Wood Rains, RN, MSN, has been named Heart Failure Accreditation Coordinator at Redmond Regional Medical. In this role, Rains will be supporting cardiac patients by coordinating their care and educating the staff. She will follow the patient’s progress as they transition through the hospital and work with the cardiologists and other physicians to ensure the best care possible is received. Rains is also a Clinical Educator at Redmond and will continue to serve in this role as well. Rains came to Redmond in 1981 and since that time has served in a number of roles around the hospital. She has served as a floor staff nurse, Relief House Supervisor and CCU nurse.Rains graduated from Floyd College with her Associate Degree in Nursing and from the State University of West Georgia with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Rains earned her Masters of Nursing from the State University of West Georgia with a special focus on research of heart failure. She is an ACLS instructor and is a member of the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses and the Society of Chest Pain Centers.Rains and her husband, Herbert, have one daughter and reside in Centre, Alabama. Romenewswire
