If you are a citizen of Summerville you have until October 5th to register to vote in the November election.  Summerville residents will be going to the polls to elect a mayor and there is one contested race for city council.

Incumbent Mayor Joe Nortan is facing opposition from Melvin Foster, Sr.  For City Council Seat number 2 Incumbet Councilwoman Betty Bush is being challenged by Kevin Gilliland.

The election will be held November 3, 2009.
