The Cooperative Extension Service will be hosting an informational meeting to help make local agricultural producers aware of the energy grants and incentives that are available. The “Renewable Energy Grants for Farmers” program is scheduled for Monday, February 22 at 7 p.m. at the Walker County Ag Center in Rock Spring.
The meeting will cover the types of projects that qualify, who is eligible, and how to apply. Some of the grants that are available were established by the 2008 Farm Bill to assist eligible farmers in making energy efficiency improvements and purchasing renewable energy systems. Mark your calendar and make plans to attend this meeting to determine if projects you have in mind for your operation qualify.
There is no charge to attend the program, but we ask that you call the Chattooga County Extension office at (706) 857-0744 to sign up if you plan to attend.
