State Representative Barbara Massey Reece was one of several Northwest Georgia lawmakers that met with Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue yesterday in Rome.

The Governor is touring the state to talk about the state’s water issue and about the upcoming legislative session.  The Governor toured Northwestern Technical College in Rome on Thursday and met with the lawmakers before touring some area high schools.

The meeting by lawmakers with the Governor included Reece, a Democrat from Menlo along with Katie Dempsey a Republican from Rome and Rick Crawford a Democrat from Cedartown.  The meeting was a closed door session and Representative Crawford told the Rome News Tribune that it wouldn’t be appropriate to comment on the discussion at this time because "some aspects were sensitive."

State Senators from Northwest Georgia have a separate meeting scheduled with the Governor.
