Myriad of Transportation Bills in Georgia Legislature  Representative Barbara Massey Reece, D – Menlo, told AM 1180 Chattooga County radio that rural legislators in the Georgia General Assembly are very concerned about the governor’s transportation that would do away with congressional district balancing in representation and funding of transportation in Georgia. The governor’s plan would limit the power of the current Department of Transportation and put control over the states transportation under a board appointed by the governor, lt. governor and speaker of the house.   Reece said that under the bill being pushed by the governor all of the transportation board could be appointed from the Atlanta metro area. Reece said that Senator Jeff Mullis’ transportation funding bill was gutted in the house.  Reece also told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio that HB464 which would require prescriptions to be partially paid for by Georgia Correction Inmates passed the House yesterday and is on  its way to the senate.
