News recently broke that U.S. Congressman Nathan Deal is going to run for Governor of Georgia, and already there is someone bidding for his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.Jeremy Jones, owner of Entertainment Solutions in Ringgold, has announced he will run for a congressional seat on a Republican ticket. If elected, he will represent the 9th District of Georgia, which includes Catoosa and Walker counties. The seat is currently held by Republican Nathan Deal, who is expected to run for governor. Jones recently gave a speech at the Chattanooga Tax Day TEA party, where he spoke in opposition to the large amount of government spending. Afterwards, he was asked by many when he would run for Congress. “I have long considered running,” he said. “After witnessing how fast our government can spend two trillion dollars, and how our little corner of Georgia seems to not be represented, I decided to make it official and let the people of our area have a voice in Washington.” Jones attended Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School and went to the University of Cincinnati for Business Administration before moving back to Ringgold several years ago.
Jones is a member of the Catoosa County Chamber of Commerce and attends Boynton United Methodist Church.
