Rome Braves General Manager Mike Dunn says almost half-of the fans are traveling more than 30-miles to attend games and that’s a good indication of how attractive the event has become. Dunn says players too are often called to State Mutual Stadium, 66-miles away from Turner Field. This includes rehab assignments for Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, Chipper Jones and 18 other major leaguers. Dunn spoke at the latest meeting of the Rome Rotary Club. Opening day in Rome is April 16.
