The Rome City Commission will decide today if it will ratify a six-day suspension of alcohol sales at the Olive Garden restaurant on Turner McCall Boulevard.
The Alcohol Control Commission recommended the penalty after the restaurant’s second offense of underage serving. Thirteen restaurants were cited in a sting operation last fall, but Olive Garden was the only establishment to fail a follow-up test in May.
ACC guidelines call for a suspension of as many as 10 days, but members took into consideration the chain’s training program and policies, noting the server knew the rules she was violating.
