Rome man remains in jail on felony charges after he was found inside the bedroom closet of a teen early Thursday, reports stated.
According to reports at the Floyd County Jail:
Manuel Troy Barrera, 31, of 600 Redmond Road, Apt. H-9, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass, criminal attempt at child molestation, criminal attempt at statutory rape and felony forgery in the first degree after he was found hiding in a bedroom closet after climbing into the victim’s window around 1:30 a.m.
Reports stated Barrera had condoms in his pocket, and he claimed he’d been let into the house and he and the victim were “just friends.”
Barrera also was charged with felony forgery in the first degree after reports stated he gave a false name and forged his fingerprint card at the jail when he was taken into custody.
He remains at the Floyd County Jail on $30,150 bail.
