A prominent Rome pastor, his wife and daughter were all arrested at Rome’s Ridgeferry Park on Saturday after an altercation with police.

According to reports, Rev. Terrell Shields, his wife Sylvia Shields and daughter Terrica Shields were involved in an dispute after the group attempted to park in a reserved area with no permit to do so.

Members of the Georgia Defense Force, who were assisting with parking at the July 4th event, then called Rome police after the incident became heated.

When officers arrived, Sylvia Shields became hostile and allegedly began shouting obscenities while police were talking to the GDF officers.

According to the report, Sylvia Shields fought with a female officer, kicking and pulling her hair and resisted arrest.

She was charged with two counts of felony obstruction of law enforcement officers, two counts of simple battery on a law enforcement officer and one count of disorderly conduct.

The Rev. Terrell Shields and his daughter also became involved in the altercation. Terrell Shields has been charged with two counts of obstruction.

Terrica Shields has been charged with disorderly conduct and two counts of obstruction.

All three were booked into the Floyd County Jail and released on bond.
