A Rome woman was in jail Sunday night on three felony counts of cruelty to children and other charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Deanna Cecilia Waddell, 29, of 218 Church St., was extremely intoxicated, acting in a boisterous manner and yelling and screaming, which could be heard half a block away, while caring for her sons, ages 10, 8 and 5. Waddell “tore the house apart” then left the children to go to a house across the street. During her arrest Sunday she broke a Rome police officer’s glasses.

Numerous insects were found inside the house, according to reports.

In addition to the felony counts, Waddell was charged with public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, reckless conduct and giving false information to a law enforcement officer, all misdemeanors.

Bail was set at $8,240 on the misdemeanors. No bail had been set on the felony charges
