U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson will give a State of the Economy address Tuesday, April 7, at the Walker County Civic Center.

The address is sponsored by the Northwest Georgia Council of Realtors, and is open to the public.

Isakson “has been a longtime advocate for real estate companies and property owners,” said Joanna Jackson, president of the Northwest Georgia Council of Realtors.

Isakson’s speech will draw from his decades of experience in real estate, and will focus on solutions that may help reduce the inventory of homes left by foreclosures and the current financial crisis.

Isakson began his business career as a realtor at Northside Realty in Cobb County in 1967, and ultimately served as president of Northside for 20 years. He began in the Georgia legislature in 1974, progressed to U.S. senator in 1999, and will be up for re-election at the end of his third term in 2010.

His speech will follow an 11 a.m. networking session for professionals. Lunch will be served at 11:30 for $10 a person but requires a RSVP by noon Monday, April 6.
