Two sheriff’s deputies have been suspended and two officers have resigned after an “inappropriate” off-duty incident, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office reported today.

The group allegedly threatened to circulate pictures in the effort to humiliate an inmate.

According to a news release by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office:

Sgt. John Blalock, Deputies Brandy Burt, April Barber, Chris Parton and a county maintenance worker, Justin Cleveland were all named in the report.

Blalock and Barber have resigned. Parton and Burt were suspended for three days without pay and placed on a employment probationary status for a year.

The group is accused of attending a party where a former inmate, Angelica Johnson, currently on probation, was present.

During this party several pictures were taken and a plan was formulated to show these pictures to the woman’s boyfriend, Stephen Boyd, who is a current inmate “in an attempt to humiliate him.”

“All parties discussed the plan and were aware that it was going to happen and did nothing to prevent it,” the report states.

The report goes on to say that all of those in attendance knew of the relationship between Johnson and Boyd.

“All parties consumed alcoholic beverages and provided the same to Johnson, who is currently on active probation for misdemeanor charges,” the report states.

The investigation also revealed that Blalock and Burt were involved in an inappropriate relationship, a violation of department policy.

“Further it was determined that Deputy April Barber was in fact living with Justin Cleveland. Neither of the employees had notified any supervisor of these events,” the report states.

The news release did not discuss the nature of the photos.
