Sheriff Ralph Kellett told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio News that his office is still looking into the use of firearms during a forced traffic stop over this past weekend.
AM 1180 Chattooga Radio News told you about the incident that happened when Cedar Bluff Police attempted to stop an Alabama woman and she left the scene and took officers on a chase that lead into Chattooga County. After running over a spike strip the woman alledgedly made threatning moves with her vehichle and shots were fired by Chattooga County Deputies.
No one was injured in the incident and Sheriff Kellett said that it was believed at first Cherokee County Deputies would be charging the woman with most serious crimes. After Cherokee County Deputies only cited the woman for misdemeanors, Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputies charged the woman with a long list of charges including, possession of meth and attempted assault.
