A domestic incident spilled over into the workplace on Wednesday at JR’s Marina on Weis Lake. 

 According to reports the two owners of the business who are brothers got into an altercation at the business.  One brother pulled a baseball bat and hit the other brother in the head.  That brother retrieved a gun and shot his brother in the hip.  The gunshot victim was airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattannooga.

Sources say that the two brothers had a long-running fued and that fued wound up turning violent on Wednesday morning.

Exact details surrounding an incident at JR`s Marina early Wednesday morning continue to remain sketchy. What we know at this hour is that an apparent on- going feud between the brothers which co-own JR’s Marina in Cedar Bluff erupted in a physical altercation this morning at around 8:30. Jason Tucker was reportedly struck in the head with a baseball bat and his brother Kurt Tucker was shot in the hip apparently with a handgun.

According to eyewitnesses at the scene Jason was already at the marina earlier this morning when Kurt arrived and that’s when the altercation between the two started, it is unknown at this time exactly what sparked the incident.

Kurt Tucker was airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries while Jason was taken by ambulance to Floyd Medical Center in Rome for treatment of injuries.

Alabama Department of Forensics processed the scene the incident remains under investigation by Cedar Bluff Police.

Those responding to the scene included the Cedar Bluff Police Investigators, the Cedar Bluff Fire Department, Investigators and Deputies with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department, Leesburg and Centre Police, Alabama State Troopers, Alabama Marine Police, Investigators with the District Attorney’s Office along with Mark Hopwood with the Alabama Department of Forensics Sciences.
