Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson remains optimistic on identifying the remains found Wednesday on Lookout Mountain near Rock City. But there can be some challenges, he admits. The scattered remains of a man were discovered Wednesday below Rock City’s Lover’s Leap. The remains were scattered over more than 100 yards. Investigators believe they had been there 9-15 months.According to Wilson, the remains recovered leave investigators a lot to work with, as far as the teeth being intact and several other variables, about which investigators cannot go into detail at this time.
Wilson said he believes there are enough identification factors that give good reason to believe the remains can be identified.
