Chattooga County Public Works Director Lamar Canada told AM 1180 on Monday that a portion of Sloppy Floyd Lake Road was closed for about 3 hours as county work crews worked to install a new tile on the road. Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters made the decision to cut out a steep bank on Sloppy Floyd Lake Road to allow for more room for traffic on the narrow road-way. Public Works was scheduled to have completed the installation of the tile on Monday afternoon and the road re-opened for traffic.
