An Armuchee man waived arraignment and pleaded not guilty to several criminal charges, including murder, related to the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend’s father during an alleged Nov. 17 rampage in Rome and Floyd County.

Robert Timothy Spriggs was scheduled to be arraigned this morning in Floyd County Superior Court.

Spriggs is charged with the shooting death of 46-year-old John Gregory Davis and several other violent crimes that allegedly occurred during a two-hour time period.

Police said the crimes arose from a dispute between Spriggs and an ex-girlfriend, Hollie Davis, that resulted in a shooting spree that resulted in Greg Davis’ death.

According to court filings, Spriggs is charged with murder, armed robbery, aggravated battery, several counts of aggravated assault, battery, terroristic threats, burglary, aggravated stalking and false imprisonment.
