The Georgia 4-H Council elected the 2011-2012 Georgia 4-H Board of Directors during State 4-H Council, June 24-26 at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. The newly elected officers have completed training and will be installed during the annual banquet of State 4-H Congress. This year’s officers include Dowdy White, President, Crisp County; Juawn Jackson, Vice President, Bibb County; Hugh Slaton, State Representative, Lee County; Jordan DeWitt, State Representative, Ware County; Kevin Morris, State Representative, Chatham County; Tess Hammock, Northeast Representative, Monroe County; Erin Burnett, Southwest Representative, Mitchell County; Terrance Gibson, Southeast Representative, Appling County; and Matthew Pace, Northwest Representative, Chattooga County.
Officers Training included visits with Brian Kemp, Georgia Secretary of State; Gary Black, Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture; Dr. Beverly Sparks, Associate Dean for Extension; Tony Tyson, Director County Operations, CAES; Arch Smith, State 4-H Leader/Director of 4-H; Dr. Elizabeth Andress, Interim Director, Extension, FACS; Lindsey Whittaker, UGA Admissions Office; and Brandie Park, 4-H Alumnae. The week including leadership development, goal setting and team building programming.
