At Tuesday night’s political forum at Dandee Denson Shrine Auditorium in downtown Summerville, the candidates for State Representative talked about their ideas to represent the 11th District in the State House of Representatives.
Challenger, Republican Betty Brady, said that she wanted to see tourism expanded in Chattooga County. When pressed by SKY 21 Television’s Terry Adams as to what exactly she would like to see done, Brady said that she would like to see Lookout Mountain and the Cloudland area developed more for tourism.
State Representative Barbara Massey Reece, a Democrat from Menlo, stated that she was not at a disadvantage being in the minority party in the House, and blasted the Republican leadership for the budget problems the state now faces, saying when the Democrats were in control the state had a budget of $14 million and has gone to a budget of $21 million that the state can not afford.
