The race for who will represent District 11 in the Georgia General Assembly is well underway in Chattooga County and so is the race for money. According to reports from the Secretary of States Office, Republican Betty Brady is ahead in the fund raising contest. Brady has received over $4,000 from a Republican State Senator from Savannah along with contributions from local supporters. Meanwhile Democratic Incumbent Barbara Massey Reece’s supporters are hosting a reception/fundraiser for Reece this Friday at 5:30 PM at the United Community Bank. Most area candidates have told AM 1180 Chattooga Radio News that they will start campaigning in earnest after Labor Day.
