Lines of people seeking gas formed yesterday afternoon all over Northwest Georgia as the area is still in the grip of a fuel shortage. Some area gas stations are receiving a limited supply of gas. AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio spoke with one local service station owner on Monday afternoon who said he is placing a 5 gallon limit per customer to try to stretch out the supply of gas.
According to local gas wholesalers there is not a lot of information forthcoming about when more gas can be expected. Some industry insiders are saying the shortage could last up to two more weeks.
In Rome on Monday afternoon lines formed at many Citgo and BP gas stations as word spread that those retailers had received gas at their stations.
