The bridge at Stoleman Road in Trion has been closed for over a week since the Georgia Department of Transportation suddenly notified the county that the bridge did not meet state requirements.

Chattooga County Public Works Director Lamar Canada told AM 1180 that the county is considering several different scenerios for the bridge but that a final decision has not been made.  Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters said on Wednesday that he had a construction company coming to look at the structural supports for the bridge and wanted their assesment before any final decision is made.

The Georgia DOT gave no advanced warning to the county that the bridge might be closed.
