The Fall Season got kicked off yesterday at Dowdy Park in Summerville with the annual Sum-Nelly Arts and Crafts Festival.

The Sum – Nelly is the first in a series of events scheduled at the park in Summerville that brings in tourist from all across the Tri-State area.  Sum – Nelly is organized by the Summerville Recreation Department.  A large number of artists, craftsmen and food vendors were on hand for the event.

Unfortunately the train will not be rolling into the Summerville Depot during the fall season in Summerville due to damage to the Chattooga & Chickamauga railroad tracks during the recent flood.  The state of Georgia owns the railroad tracks and leases them to the C&C Railroad, and as of yet state funds have not been available to repair the tracks.

Next weekend Dowdy Park will host Pets in the Park.
