The Summerville City Council met in their regular monthly meeting on Monday afternoon at the Summerville City Hall council room.
The council voted to approve the 2009-2010 City Operating Budget and had the first reading of an ordinance regarding streets, sidewalks and other public places. The council voted to approve the re-appointment of Nona Snow to a five year term as Commissioner for the Housing Authority of the City of Summerville.
Summerville Police Chief Stan Mosely told the council that his department had patroled 1200 miles, issued 86 citations and collected $7,300 in fines during the month of June. Chief Mosely also said that his department had answered 44 calls during the month of June. The council also discussed the purchase of a new patrol car that will cost around $23,000.
The council also went into executive session to discuss personnel matters during the meeting.
