Several upcoming events and meetings were discussed at the Summerville City Council meeting, including plans for the Independence Day Celebration.

The City of Summerville is providing space for the Farmer’s Market each Wednesday in front of the Presbyterian Church on West Washington Street.  Also, the council has announced a special called meeting on Thursday, June 11th to discuss a setback variance for the new Marvin’s store located at the old Summerville Wal Mart site.

Then on Thursday, June 25th at 4 PM the City will have a public hearing concerning the 2009-2010 proposed operating budget.

The City of Summerville’s "Celebrate Independence" festivities will be held on Saturday, July 4th.  City offices will be closed on July 3rd for the holiday.
