The Summerville News is reporting that several convenience stores in Chattooga County have been nabbed in a two week sting involving the stores selling alcohol to an underage person. 

According to the report, the Chattooga County Sheriff’s department conducted a two week sting in which 15 stores were caught selling alcohol to an underage person.   Summerville City Councilwoman Brenda Burks is one of the persons nabbed in the sting.  According to Chattooga County Sheriff John Everett, Burks is alleged to have sold alcohol to a minor at the Melanie Inn off Hawkins Drive in Summerville.

The report says that Burks will be given a $500 bond when she turns herself in to the Sheriffs Department at 3 PM this afternoon. Meanwhile, the beer and wine licenses for the 15 stores nabbed in the sting have been pulled by the Sheriff.
