The Georgia State Patrol Post in Rome released their weekly report of accidents with injuries on Tuesday. According to the report, a 19 year old Summerville man was involved in accident last week that lead to several citations.
The accident occured last Thursday on Martin Street in Summerville when Christian Thomas Wheatly of a Roberts Street address in Summerville left the roadway and struck a power pole. According to Georgia State Troopers, Wheatly was driving 1999 Ford Taurus owned by OK Rentals of Summerville when he lost control of the carand left the roadway striking a power pole.
The driver was cited for failure to maintain a single lane, no proof of insurance and tire requirements. Wheatly and a 17 year old passenger were transported to Floyd Medical Center by Chattooga County EMS with minor injuries according to the report.
