A Chattooga County man was jailed early Thursday morning after police say he injured two officers during his arrest for cocaine possession, reports stated.

According to Rome police reports and Floyd County Jail records:

Anteaus Delano Adams, 26, of 116 Stamper Drive in Summerville, is charged with felony battery on a law enforcement officer, possession of cocaine and felony obstruction of an officer.

Police said Adams was seen making a suspected cocaine transaction by hand near the side of a building on Shorter Avenue at 1:13 a.m. When police approached the man, he started to walk away then began to fight with officers. One officer was struck in the mouth, and another received injuries to his right shoulder and knee during the scuffle.

Police said they found a glass cocaine smoking pipe in his possession.
