The Summerville City Council met in their regularly scheduled monthly meeting and work session on Monday evening at city hall.  The council discussed the old Tutton Auto Parts property which the city now owns; the city is looking for federal money to help with the clean-up of the property. The council also discussed a new policy for sewer hookups that would require all new sewer hookups to have back flow and sewer clean-outs.   The Summerville City Council is also looking at updating the City Code of Ordinances.  The last revisions to the city’s code of ordinances were made in 1995, before that the last update was 1965.  The city attorney is working with the council to get the ordinances updated. Summerville Police Chief Stan Mosely reported that the city police department had patrolled 1,508 miles and issued 116 citations in the month of January.
