Resident who get their utilities from the City of Summerville will be facing an increase in their monthly bill for the seventh year in a row, according to the 2009-2010 fiscal budget numbers released by the City of Summerville. Even with these increases in utilities, the City of Summerville still expects an eighteen percent decrease in overall revenues. Part of the reason for the increase in rates is the fact that area manufacturers have cut back on their consumption and now that decrease is causing a shortfall for the City. The average water customer in Summerville will see a small increase of around 48 cents added to their water bill.
