A Summerville woman was arrested Tuesday and charged with account fraud after issuing a bad check to Rome business last year.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Betty Jean Parker, 18, of 162 Blake St. in Summerville, was arrested by Chattooga County authorities around noon on Tuesday. She was charged with misdemeanor deposit account fraud after police say that in September 2008, she wrote a check for $121.15 to a Rome business on a closed account.
She also has a failure to appear for an earlier charge and remains in jail without bail.
