Police have now identified the suspect in the robbery of the Citizens First Bank on Shorter Avenue on Wednesday morning and issued a warrant for his arrest.

According to Investigator Chris Arrington with the Rome police department, The suspect who entered the bank has been identified as 24 year old Shawn Douglas Colson of Decatur.

Arrington said Colson entered the bank branch, sat down at the teller desk and brandished a weapon, telling the bank employee that he wanted them to give him all of the one hundred dollar bills. “Colson was very calm and cool when he was in the bank” Arrington said.

The suspect left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to police, Colson was identified after they found information in the U-Haul that led them to his identity.

Arrington said Colson should be considered armed and dangerous and if anyone should see him, to call police immediately.
