A Tractor Trailer overturned on Alabama Highway 68 yesterday afternoon and caused and all-day problem that stretched into the evening hours.

The truck was a 2000 International driven by Tommy Sexton of Sylacauga, Alabama.  The tanker was full of fabric softner used in cotton cloth processing and was reportedly headed for Mt. Vernon Mills in Trion.  The accident happened at 12:58 PM – GA time – and shut the road down until well into the night.

Gaylesville Fire Department directed traffic on the Alabama side on Highway 68 and Chattoogaville Fire Department directed traffic on the Georgia side on Highway 114.  The Georgia DOT shut down Highway 114 to thru traffic at the Georgia 100 intersection on Tuesday afternoon.

The road was finally re-opened around 10 PM GA time.   There were no injuries reported in the accident.
