Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force Commander Joey Jacobs said that this was part of a regular vice round-up sting operation that involves undercover officers.
“We normally do these types of operations as we get complaints,” Jacobs said.
According to reports from the Floyd County Jail:
Lorie Jane Ponder, 22, of 238 Maple Drive in Cedartown, was the first jailed. Ponder was arrested near the intersection of Martha Berry Boulevard and West 10th Street at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Police also reportedly found cocaine in her possession during a search.
Later that night, around 12:10 a.m., officers arrested two other women near the intersection of Turner McCall Boulevard and East Ninth Street.
Kelly Teniel Diamond, 33, of 203 Woodward St., and Niecey Sims, 47, of 304 N. 4th Ave., were both jailed on prostitution charges after offering police their “services.”
Diamond was allegedly found with a crack pipe with cocaine residue on the inside when she was searched during her arrest.
Ponder remained at the Floyd County Jail without bond on a felony charge of possession of cocaine and had a $1,350 bond for the misdemeanor charge of prostitution.
Diamond was being held without bail on the felony charge of possession of cocaine and a probation hold. She was also being held on the misdemeanor charge of prostitution with a $1,350 bond.
Sims was held on a $1,350 bond on the misdemeanor prostitution charge.
