Family and friends gathered last night at the Rock Springs Methodist Church in Walker County for a candelight vigil in memory of three people who lost their lives in a tragic car accident last Friday on Highway 136 in the Villanow Community.

The accident happened when a tree service truck crossed the center line and crashed into the Dodge pickup truck driven by 36 year old Anthony Hixson of LaFayette.  Hixson along with his 11 year old daughter, Amber were killed on impact.  Hixson’s brother in law, James Whitaker of LaFayette was transported to Erlanger by Lifeforce, but died at the hospital.

Hixson is survived by his wife Donna Hixson of LaFayette and a 5 year old son.  The bodies of Anthony Hixson and Amber Hixson were sent to the state crime lab in Atlanta.  Authoritites with the D.O.T. and the Georgia State Patrol are still investigating the accident.
