The Chattooga County Board of Education held a called meeting Thursday night at 7pm at the County Board of Education office. The purpose of the meeting was to approve the Superintendent’s recommendation to set the Millage Rate and approve the 2009 Budget. The Superintendent’s recommendation to set the millage rate at 9.678 was unanimously approved by the board. Superintendent Dr. Dwight Pullen explained that the millage rate has remained the same for three years. The 2009 budget was also unanimously approved by the board. The budget was tentatively approved and posted in "The Summerville News," and previously discussed in last week’s board work session. The 2009 budget expenditures and ending balance total $27,233,413.00. There were no more items to discuss on the agenda and the meeting was adjourned.
