For the second straight year financial problems have put the brakes on the Tour de Georgia. The seven day bike race across the state could not find a sponor and has decided to call off North America`s premier professional cycling event. 

The Tour de Georgia was run for six years, 2003-2008, and featured Rome in five of those years.

The last race in 2008 had a $38.6 million economic impact on the state
