Chattooga County Coroner Earle Rainwater confirmed yesterday the identity of a woman’s body found last week in the Chattooga River.

The body was identified as that of 43-year-old Earllana Sue Sprayberry Trammell who had been missing since February.  The cause of death has not been determined by the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta.

The body was found on April 2nd just south of the Penn Bridge off of Penn Bridge Road by boaters floating down the Chattooga River.

Trammell’s body was  was the second body found in the river in less than a month.   Back on March 12th the remains of Paty Allen Spivey were found in the river near Lyerly.  While there is no foul play suspected in Tramell’s death – Spivey’s is being considered a homicide by local authorities.
