Trees are down all over Chattooga County due to the high winds.  The Chattooga County Sheriffs Department is reporting trees down in the Dry Valley area as well as Marble Springs Road and off of Highway 114 and other areas of the county as well.

Power outages are also being reported throughout the county.  Georgia Power is working to restore power to the affected areas.

Chattooga County Schools are in session as well as Trion City Schools. 

The Chattooga County Sheriffs Department told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio that they are calling in additional deputies to help handle the high volume of calls coming in because of the high winds.

Chattooga County Public Works Director Lamar Canada told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio that his crews have been working since around 6 this morning cleaning debris from roadways.  Canada said anyone that has a report of trees down in county roadways should report it to 911.
